Please consider coming on this Oregon Coast photo workshop with Jack Graham. The Oregon coastline offers some of the most beautiful and famous marine views anywhere in the world. This diverse landscape ranges from sandy beaches with 500-600’ high cliffs dropping off on rocky beaches with crashing waves, to tide pools filled with marine life. Many working lighthouses offer unique photographic experiences and small fishing towns offer beautiful harbors with easy access to fishing boats. We’ll enjoy the cool, fresh and invigorating air of the Pacific Ocean along with some great sunsets!

We will begin our photography experience in Ecola State Park, where old growth rain forests abound. Views of the ocean and Tillamook Lighthouse make this area a must. From there we head down the coast to Cannon Beach, known for Haystack Rock and fabulous sunsets. The town of Tillamook is a bit further south (known for Tillamook Cheese!).

We will drive south parallel to the coast to shoot locations like Cape Lookout, Cape Mears, Devils Punchbowl, Cape Fowl Weather, Haceta Head, Yaquina Head, Newport Harbor, Charleston Harbor, Cape Blanco and more. Itineraries will be customized to light and weather conditions. Days are long since, if conditions are good, sunsets can provide great afterglow until 10 pm!

We will spend time photographing some of the tide pools on the coast. Though challenging to photograph, they offer incredibly interesting photography. The summer months have the lowest tides of the year and we’ll take advantage of them to get spectacular images of the sea creatures at arm’s length.

Please note that although the workshop starts at sunrise on May 31, we will meet at the Sunset Inn in Bandon, Oregon May 30 for an hour or so to go over itineraries, travel, and workshop goals. The workshop ends after sunset at Cannon Beach late on Sunday afternoon. If you decide to stay at Cannon Beach on Sunday night (and I encourage you to do so) please contact me for hotel information. It is about a 2-hour drive back to Portland on some very curvy roads.

More details regarding travel, what to bring, and accommodation will be sent to you after registration. Accommodation is not included in the workshop cost. Click here if you want to know what we’ll be working on, and click here for general information on what to bring.
