Dahlia & NW Garden Workshop

Loading Events

Join me and John Pedersen as we explore and photograph the amazing dahlia fields south of Portland, Oregon along with a select few chosen gardens.  This is an intensive 1 1/2 day workshop focusing on creating compelling images, ones that draw the viewer in to the details and colors of this fascinating flower.  We will combine field work along with image review and instructional time to ensure that you come away with newfound skills and great images.

Dahlia flowers can be some of the most beautiful flowers to photograph, providing a wide variety of compositional possibilities, along with a huge variety of shapes, colors and textures.  We will have ample time to practice close-up photography and will have lots of teaching in the field to slow down and capture the essence of the flower in your shot.  We will also visit other NW gardens nearby in order to capture different flora.

PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is part of the Photograph the Pacific Northwest series, a collaboration between Jack Graham and John Pedersen to highlight the magnificent beauty of the PNW through in-depth workshops at some of the most iconic and beautiful locations.
