The Oregon coastline offers some of the most beautiful and famous marine views anywhere in the world. This diverse landscape ranges from sandy beaches with 500-600’ high cliffs dropping off on rocky beaches with crashing waves, to tide pools filled with marine life. Many working lighthouses offer unique photographical experiences and small fishing towns offer beautiful harbors with easy access to fishing boats. We’ll enjoy the cool, fresh and invigorating air of the Pacific Ocean along with some great sunsets!
Please consider coming to the beautiful Oregon Coast in June 2018, to experience everything from the magnificent cliffs, which drop hundreds of feet into the blue Pacific Ocean to the small fishing villages with quant buildings with the nautical feeling, found only here on the NW Pacific coast. We will combine lots of in the field, hands on instruction along with review and photographic development sessions that will you’re your photography to the next level, as well as produce some
Many of these locations are not on the tourist maps and have been selected after years of experience traveling up & down the Oregon Coast. We will share these photographic gems with you!
We will be at the right place, at the right time to capture some amazing images, found only on the Oregon cast while honing out photographic skills.
Specific locations have been determined by years of experience. We’ll visit some of the well-known, iconic places, as well as many places off the beaten path.
Most of instruction and nature photography tips and techniques will take place right there in the field. There’s no need to take notes. You will receive a complete 70+ (and growing) page syllabus contain. We will spend time photographing some of the tide pools on the coast. Though challenging to photograph, they offer incredibly interesting photography. The summer months have the lowest tides of the year and we’ll take advantage of them to get spectacular images of the sea creatures at arm’s length.
The Oregon Coast workshops are fast becoming perhaps my most anticipated. The Oregon Coast contains some of the most varied, unique areas. Because of its remote beaches and tide pools, rocky coastline with majestic sea stacks and dramatic sunsets, this area offers great and different photographical experiences at every turn. Lighthouses, Majestic Cliffs, Rainforests, Beaches, Tide Pools, Sunsets, Fishing villages and more…. We’ll do it all! There’s nowhere like the Oregon Coast!
Please note that although the workshop starts at sunrise on May 30, we will meet in Bandon, Oregon on the evening of May 29 for an hour or so to go over itineraries, travel, and workshop goals. The workshop ends after sunset at Cannon Beach on June 3rd. All our workshops will be attended by owners of the Fujifilm “X” System cameras and lenses. The workshops are not, however, dedicated just to only Fujifilm “X” camera shooters. All are encouraged to attend!
