The Cleveland Metro Parks are just one of many of Ohio’s Metro Park systems of nature preserves throughout the state. There are many Metro Parks that encircle the greater Cleveland area. These generally follow the flow of the many rivers found in the area and are known as the “Emerald Necklace”.

The Chagrin River, designated a Senic River n 1979 flows through the eastern part of the South Chagrin Reservation. The forest in the reservation contains hemlock, white oak, red oak and shagbark hickory trees, as well as beech & sugar maples. All of these beautiful trees allow for a brilliant fall display in the reservation as well as around the river.
