Traveling east on Iceland’s south coast out group experienced glaciers, ice caves, black sand beaches with crystal clear ice washed up with the tides, beautiful Icelandic horses and more. Today, day 5 we are heading back to Reykjavik stopping along the way to make more images. We had some rain and wind yesterday but luckily we are in the ice cave most of the morning , We stop at many spots not on the normal tour map to capture these amazing images. It great not dealing with the hoards of tourists!

Glaciers and Mountains at Sunrise are amazing!
At Left, is the famous Jokulsarlon, a glacial lagoon. The ice is much more blue in the winter
The nearby beach is littered with ice, broken off the glaciers and swept back on the beaches with the tides….amazing imagery here.
….and then there are the ice caves…a surreal experience. We go into these caves with our mountain guide…. for most this is the highlight of the trip!
..and the beautiful, friendly Icelandic Horses…. did you know that some of these horses have blue eyes?
